Just watched a local movie a couple days ago, called Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan (Sore: Wife from The Future). Proud to call it an absolute Indonesian cinema.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac were perfect casting choices for our new trio. Maz Kanata feels like she's been a part of Star Wars forever.

Watching the documentary videos for the SWST is very refreshing, healthy even, as a form of art appreciation. My take is, these projects will always be something special - they're some of the finest outputs and thoughtful collaborative efforts - regardless of the parts you don't dig.

The last two points are massive reasons for the Star Wars sequel trilogy getting too much “backlash”: 1. Too many bad or going-in-to-hate takes that never gave the movies a chance or properly looked at most items. 2. Extreme hate has made it hard for the ST and ST fans to break out of our bubbles.

Sometimes I think that the Star Wars sequel trilogy’s “bad reputation” online is a little too underwhelmingly exaggerated. But I oftentimes also think that they’re victims of: 1. Deceptive marketing 2. Bad media literacy 3. Backlash from the affected fanbase (from the two points before)

It’s kind of an itch that a conversation about movies with old friends from senior year ended up with how Star Wars screwed up General Hux and that “the trilogy they made after the prequels didn’t exactly inspire them or anything”. Perhaps it’s time for me to quit talking about Star Wars for real.

Had a nice little reunion and conversation with an old friend from junior year. However, how ironic, that the person who historically introduced me to Star Wars doesn’t want to talk about Star Wars anymore. At the very least, they’re cool with it, and with me still liking the whole thing.

It is… as they say… say that again? 9.4/10. As epic as Superman gets, still a standard but good MCU flick, but a fresh reintro once again.
