I have both perfect pitch (the ability to recognize any note from hearing it instantly) AND synesthesia (the mental phenomenon of linking some senses to others, in my case, it's musical pitches and sometimes numbers to colors/images). Idk how rare this combination is, but it's not common lol

Really enjoyed hearing Ken's thoughts on this one-shot, and I absolutely agree! One of the best Star Wars comic issues I've read in recent memory. Frankly, its biggest issue is that it's not a mini or ongoing series.

Favorite is FROM SPACE, but best imo is THE MUPPETS (2011)

As a massive fan of the franchise as a whole and especially of its flagship series, THE MUPPET SHOW reboot was excellent. We need, minimum, five seasons of this. There are some little tweaks I'd make (laugh track doesn't work for me), but all-in-all a spectacular return that I hope is permanent!

one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

We’re so back. Cannot believe how back we are. Disappointed that it’s only 10 episodes but whatever.

It directly deals with almost every single thing we’re talking about every day: The slow creep of authoritarianism, fascism in our neighborhoods, pressuring leaders, local solidarity, multigenerational effort, refugee safety, and even genocide. BUT, it’s also slapsticky, and it makes you feel good.

I know some people look down on animation as a medium, and comedy as a genre, and I can’t fix those glaring character defects. But, if that’s NOT you, I highly recommend watching Star Wars Resistance right now! It’s got all of the timely themes we need, but it’s also easy on the heart & mind.

This is a podcast episode I have wanted to do for a very long time. Angry Birds Star Wars and its sequel were the impetus for me falling in love with Star Wars, and just as that late ‘90s/early 2000s period is one of great nostalgia for the Bombad Boyos, so are the early 2010s for me. Thursday!
