Thronesdb Random for 12/5 is a card I'm sure you can build around (especially in Melee) since the cardpool is so big now. I dislike it because the GJ stuff that cares about winning dominance and passive power gain is all Drowned God. There just aren't many unique Drowned God characters.

Thronesdb Random for 11/5 has loads of mean words we love to see, however in practice it wasn't great. Most Winter plots are still too low initiative to make the -3 into a reliable win and the reserve penalty isn't enough on its own. Maybe if we could legally run NW with KoW and Banner GJ? 😅

Thronesdb Random for 9/5 is an absolute banger of an edict. Choke decks are always happy to do this, Builder's can ditch the Grizzled Miner that discounted itself, Recruitment decks can seed a target for The Wall (TMoW). This card is one of my favourite reasons to be in Night's Watch.

Thronesdb Random for 8/5 is a card that's Draft format only in 2.0, but is actually a very faithful reprint of a 1.0 card I have played more than most people. For context, back in 1.0, you could just play cards from other houses but they cost 2 more gold to marshall or set up.

Thronesdb Random for 7/5 is the Core Set Martell economy location....it goes in Martell decks and has since the Core Set 😂 Curiously though, this isn't a true reprint like some of the others! The reducer in 1.9 and CCG was Palace Fountains and Blood Orange Grove was a utility location.

Thronesdb Random for 6/5 is, like so many bodies, a 4 for 4 bicon Knight with conditional renown. I've only really played Ser Amory in decks that want a critical mass of Knights for effects like Daring Rescue.

Thronesdb Random for 5/5 is a neutral staple which has existed in basically the same form since Westeros Edition (The first CCG set way back in 2002). It was always good early in each edition before usually falling off as card pools expanded but the higher gold curve in 2.0 kept it relevant there

Thronesdb Random for 4/5 is a really nasty and cool Kings of Winter plot (that predates Kings of Winter). The idea is that our choke effects limit the number of cards they can effectively deploy and this plus our agenda reduces their max hand size by 3!

Thronesdb 3/5 is often a cheeky one of in Targ Burn decks that need to find a Dragon to play 'Dracarys!' and want to have a decent density of events so Shadowblack Lane is reliable card advantage.

Thronesdb Random for 2/5 follows the tradition of big neutral The Seven characters who punish unfair decks. This one is binder fodder though. The most interesting thing about this card is that it inexplicably looks like a discotheque. Earning it the nickname 'Brother Sledge'.

I really like Thronesdb Random for 1/5. It's not amazing in any deck but it has all of these little use cases.The Smuggler trait can trigger Salladhor, the Raider trait has synergy if we're GJ Stag. Baratheon has the second most Warships after GJ. The Reaction can answer Bestow strategies. It's fun.

Thronesdb Random for 30/4 is a powerful Targ staple showcasing a fan favourite moment of asoiaf. Unfortunately, I had to take a lot of judge calls for players who missed the "Deck Limit:1". I want to gush about a play I made 9 years ago in Lanark in my win and in, so I'll do so below.

Thronesdb Random for 29/4 is a GOT era reprint of a 1.0 card. Except the 2.0 version is cheaper which definitely bucks the trend, in reality the cards are totally different game text wise but both fill the same primary role of keeping an opponent's utility location knelt.

Thronesdb Random for 28/4 is a Core Set Mono Con 2 cost STR 3 with a relevant trait and mostly positive keyword, but crucially no ability. An early staple that fell off outside of Dothraki decks but was good in Targ Sea of Blood, which won the last FFG era Worlds in 2020.

Thronesdb Random for 27/4 is more a Banner Stag card than a Bara card, needing a non Bara character to get full value. Bara would later get Red Priest to do something similar without needing other bodies. Both of them have the R'hllor trait, which it's nice to have a density of for Core Melisandre

Thronesdb Random for 26/4 goes in decks where we want to reach a critical mass of Stewards for The Rat Cook. He also belongs in any deck where we want to get value from standing a big Jon Snow, and I like him best with Jon Snow (TWoW) for lots of standing shenanigans.

Thronesdb Random for 25/4 is origin of the archetypal templating given to fools. Draw a card if they win a challenge, discard a card if they lose one. Later fools either followed this or had abilities to pay off the Insight and/or the Forced Reaction. There are entire competitive Fool decks now.

However, I understand that it sees play in a GOT era Martell Qohor deck that cycles through 3 cost attachments that accumulate tempo. Love that for it!

Sometimes I think it would be really cool to have an actual boyfriend that doesn't insist on keeping me a secret. Ya gal is starting to develop a complex about this :/

Thronesdb Random for 21/04 is a bit of a meme, no single challenge trick really needs to cost so much or buff so much. It has it's uses though, the most practical is as a 1 card enabler for an all modes Brienne (HoT) and the most aspirational of which is turning Roose (GoH) into a 1 sided board wipe

Thronesdb Random for 20/4 was an early staple for Lanni which fell off when hard resets became a thing. Playing this on a Core Cersei claim boosted INT challenge after a partial reset (Wildfire of First Snow) was often enough to have the game snowball in your favour.

This walked into my head as a thought exercise so why not? This is a thread breaking down what colour identity I think each Thrones LCG Faction would have in MtG. I'm basing this off mechanics rather than themes and motivations etc and might not hold up to much scrutiny....

Thronesdb Random for 19/4 was a staple in Bara Dominance decks for the first few years of 2.0 and still cropped up occasionally as Bara got 'better things to do' with more Voltron, Control, Knights, and Smuggler/Warship builds rather than just playing "Table and Chair"strategies

Thronesdb Random for 18/2 is a GOT era design that I can only imagine running in Martell Knights or maybe Martell HoD The Shadow City. I'd only want this if I wanted a critical mass of Shadows and/or Knights. I don't think Dominance decks care too much as they still get their triggers from winning.
