POLITICO competitor NOTUS posted a story this morning suggesting Rep. Sarah McBride is giving Democrats cover to retreat on trans rights. The piece sparked backlash at McBride. But NOTUS has since rewritten it multiple times, changing the takeaway without issuing a correction.

Truth. We have to step outside our bubbles and engage *those who operate in good faith*. It's tiring cuz it's harder to build than destroy. But no act is too small; it all builds upward. Call in, challenge, listen, assert. Don't forget to hydrate.

Much of "resistance" is also getting off, or on, the keyboard and connecting to some [not all] people you might have written off. Don't believe social media bubbles; the Movable Middle is bigger than you think, and remarkably movable. Move that middle toward you. That is "The Work".

Much, if not most, of "resistance" is behind the scenes, boring, unsexy, dry, often procedural stuff. It's ok to want, and necessary to do, spectacle of resistance. But realize most of the effective stuff isn't in spectacle and is often under the radar. Many are doing that thankless labor.
