What really bothers me about these anti trans laws isn’t what’s happening to me specifically but what’s happening to all the more vulnerable people like me. Particularly young people in red states. I was them once, and I hoped the new generation would come into a better world.

I didn’t transition with the goal of being called “she/her”. My goal was to feel comfortable in my skin, to express myself the way I really felt, and to wear clothes that fit my body. But “he/him” pronouns for someone who looks like this is crazy and confusing. She/her, please.

There is no treatment for gender dysphoria other than transition. Trust me, I tried all of the experimental ones. I loved my family and my girlfriend, and didn’t want to lose them. But at the end of the day I couldn’t keep living as a shell. I had to be a person.
