Begging you not to let Wael’s Tarabishi’s story get lost amidst all the horrors. He was a 30 year old disabled man. His dad was his full time caregiver. ICE took his dad away. Wael said it would kill him. He said the fear was “real & immediate”. He died last week. ICE killed Wael.

Hey folks - due to rain in town today, we are cancelling our weekly protest. We will plan to resume next week. In the meantime, please share our petition if you haven't yet (it's pinned!).

Federal officers are firing so much tear gas at protesters outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, that some nearby community members who aren’t even protesting are struggling to breathe when they leave their homes to run errands.

We will be outside the Carroll County Commissioner's office today from 5:30-7PM to ask for an end to 287(g)! Come join us!

Here to say that since the ICE crackdown, we've seen fewer immigrants in the hospital and have had them leave, even critically ill ones who would die without treatment, due to the fear of being detained and deported.

The government is shut down, but we're still here! Take care of each other as regular services that folks need may not be available. If you have neighbors who work for the government, they may not be paid. Check on people in your community to make sure they are okay, especially if this persists.

This is extremely alarming: DHS announced yesterday that it will begin reimbursing state and local law enforcement agencies for participation in the 287(g) program, which allows them to assist with federal immigration enforcement. 🧵
