the choices disabled people have to make that no one else thinks about are a lot. There are so many mental gymnastics, and things to consider that seem unfathomable to others. For instance, do you know how much work goes into me making other people feel comfortable around me? Probably not.

On #adoption terminology: a treacherous terrain. I always prefer “lose a child to adoption”, but I will occasionally use “relinquish,” despite connotations of agency. I *never* say “place a child for adoption.” That is industry propaganda. It’s like saying “placing a home for foreclosure.”

I'm sure I'm gonna get blocked but it sure is something to see y'all understand family separation is a threat enough to make a "joke". Fwiw these are the adoption "jokes" I refer to when I say they fuel adoptees' 4x higher suicide rate. We see you. We hear you. We know what you think of us.
