ServiceNow is one of several companies whose technology could be replicated by a middle school programming class but is insulated from competition by enormous multimillion dollar service contracts thanks to an army of sales psychos, yet the people in charge think their devs are cracking cold fusion

I've done a few reply guy comments on the Neon Odyssey kickstarter and I probably sound kinda negative (D&D in space has been done before, a lot!) I'm not really. I hope the game is good, the KS has exploded regardless of my opinion. It's stunning that they've blow past $3M so fast!

This has been thoroughly dunked on but the description is basically what's happening off-screen in Fahrenheit 451. TV that consumes people to the extent that they reject every other form of media.

A bunch of these are small polities in a much larger metroplex area because the US doesn't like municipal amalgamation for some reason. Santa Clara isn't a small town, it's just an arbitrary blob on the map in the suburban sprawl between SF and San Jose

There so many things wrong with this op-ed from every angle you can imagine, but at its core it's also just factually wrong - complex coffee drinks are the norm and Starbucks produces every drink in roughly the same amount of time. They're not roasting fresh beans for you.
