In these trying times, take whatever wins you can. I made it to the top of Old La Honda on Sunday. I wasn't sure if I could, but I did.

There so many things wrong with this op-ed from every angle you can imagine, but at its core it's also just factually wrong - complex coffee drinks are the norm and Starbucks produces every drink in roughly the same amount of time. They're not roasting fresh beans for you.

It's a good suggestion but there are two ways out here: 1. The three clue rule (as suggested) 2. Don't have pass/fail rolls. You might roll for unexpected consequences, but failure makes too many dead ends.

Our Caltrain usage from the south bay to The City has gone way up with the new electric trains. Huge win for the bay area. Faster, more frequent, smoother and outlets at every seat.

Everyone saying this is just a cover for anti-lgbtq censorship is right BUT It's also a way to prevent new entrants into online social media as only large incumbent companies can afford to comply with these onerous rules. It's anticompetitive.

Every couple of months or so, someone puts out a piece of bad social science meant to undermine the case for more housing. For Roosevelt Institute, I wrote a blog post responding to the two most recent specimens.

There Is No Housing Affordability Without Building More Housing
If we make it easier to build dense housing in cities, then the resulting supply boost will ease the cost burden on renters and put homeownership within closer reach for millions of households.

Traveller published a couple alien rpg supplements back in the 80's that basically said this - sure, you can play this alien race, but they don't behave or think like humans, so maybe think twice here

I went to a Toronto Sceptres game on NYE last year and it was great hockey. Fast, no fights and the crowd was absolutely insane for it. The PWHL could become the most popular women's sports league in north america.

I was never really into 2300AD (the RPG) but at what point did the Kaefers become Predators? Also while I generally like to see old games kept in print and I'm glad it has an audience... Kaefer was always a problematic name for one of the big-bad alien races. They could have changed it.

Every Canadian is require to weigh in on the Olympic curling scandal so here's my two cents: yes, it's a rule violation but I don't think it makes any difference to the outcome of the game or a throw at all. It's the weirdest thing because it's not cheating in the sense it gives you an advantage.
