Something that doesn't get talked about nearly enough is how Sarah Palin, with her combination of religious zealotry, outsider appeal, anti-intellectualism, aggressive posturing and utter uncuriosity about the world, set the stage for the current phase of US right-wing politics.

These assholes that have taken power can't accomplish HALF of what they hope to unless they are helped by certain idiots, e.g. whoever called the police on 2 siblings arguing in Lynn, MA. Or the bosses at Tatte who preemptively let go workers with "paperwork issues" before 47 even took office, etc.

Trans ppl need to be aware: Trump's hideous executive order on gender DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATE ID OR DRIVER'S LICENSE. It only applies to Federal documents. Some states (notably Florida) are pulling the same shit, but in many others it's still possible to change your gender marker.

Anybody heading inbound from Cambridge to Boston on the Red Line today/tonight: be aware that things are even more messed up than officially announced. Yes there are shuttle buses between Alewife and Harvard (probably jam packed) but THEN you have a maybe 20-30+ minute wait for an inbound train.
