With the way the league is going, I think we’re not far off the point when an A-League player will be sold for north of €5m. With longer contracts, better platforming, and international success at youth level, the profile of Australian players is growing slowly but surely.

So good. Thomas Frank and his staff deserve a lot of credit for trusting Damsgaard and allowing him utilize his problem-solving skills in a more central position. That pass for Wissa’s goal was the definition of creativity.

Big fan of Santiago Giménez, offers so much versatility up top. Proactive box movement, good back-to-goal play, capable of dropping deep to assist the buildup. Definitely an upgrade on Milan’s previous striker options.

Antonín Kinský’s preference to punch balls instead of trying to catch them has put unnecessary pressure on Spurs on multiple occasions. Big red flag, for me, when looking at goalkeepers.

Jed Drew was on track for a Johnny-Warren-Medal-worthy season and he thoroughly deserves this move. A rapid, two-way winger, and relentless off-ball runner, with loads of pace to burn and the ability to cross/finish off both feet. The Austrian Bundesliga will suit him well.

I know it’s been mentioned before, but having both Folami and Pierias on the right-hand side really makes no sense to me. Especially when you have a right-footed left-back and a natural midfielder playing LW on the opposite side. #ADLvAKL

Daan Klomp, who's currently on trial with Adelaide United, seems like an interesting player, at least on the surface. Canadian Premier League Champion in 2024, MVP award winner in 2023, and back-to-back defender of the year. Could be a solid depth option.

Crazy that Antoine Semenyo is yet to be seriously linked with any of the big Premier League clubs. Such a well-rounded forward, very two-footed, offers different solutions in different positions, excellent presser OOP. Top player.

Ariath Piol's supposed move to the MLS is a testament to the growing interest in the A-League market. Five starts and less than 500 minutes played at A-League level and he's already earned himself a move. That's proof that if you perform, you'll get a fair look in.

People blaming every single negative thing at a club on coaches is my new biggest ick in football.

A bit random, but I expect the next A-League off-season to be a record breaking one in terms of fees for outgoing players. Buckets of talented youngsters coming through the league this term, due to obvious reasons. Hope clubs can cash in.

Talay changed things at HT which saw them build in more of a 3-2. This allowed them an extra option to recycle possession and progress forward. They had 65% possession in the second half.

The fact that he's been a CB for the majority of his short career so far makes this even more mind-blowing. Having watched Hibs a few times recently, it's worth pointing out that he's actually been struggling more with the off-ball part of his role, compared to dribbling & chance-creation.

Probably coincidental, but sometimes it feels like Socceroos coaches intentionally wait for players to get to Europe before calling them up, regardless of performances in the A-League. Countless examples over the years, but Ryan Teague is the latest. Hardly anything he can't do on a football pitch.

Huge fan of Chiefy, but there have been some red flags in Wellington’s game this season. After 10 games, they’re bottom of the league for Shots on target p90, second bottom for Box touches, and there clearly seems to be an over-reliance on fast breaks for chance-creation.

Central Coast might have 100 problems, but attacking set-pieces is definitely not one of them. Mikael Doka has been superb. #CCMvMCY

Nowhere near enough numbers in the Mariners rest attack when they look to transition from defence. Feels like the space between Kuol and the next offensive line is regularly too big. #CCMvMCY

If Popa wants to stick with the 3-4-3, reckon Gabriel Cléùr and Dylan Pierias are two Socceroos RWB bolters that deserve a shout. Slightly different profiles, but both suit that advanced role and have stood out in the A-League Men. Small sample size, but they're also boasting impressive numbers.
