Crossings like this with stop signs should have raised, continuous sidewalks to force drivers to slow down, and to flip the dynamic so that drivers know and consciously feel that they are on space that belongs to pedestrians.

NEW- We’ve discovered 7 concerning issues with the new information on Lansdowne 2.0 released by the city just one week ago- 1) $17.4 million per year (not $4.3 million) is being carved out of Ottawa’s Budget until 2070 to pay for Lansdowne 2.0 debt ($696 million in payments).

There’s light rain in #Ottawa today. That means that, at many crosswalks, water is pooling where the sidewalk dips down to meet the road. It’s worse when snowbanks form in winter. Raised crossings should be standard on all side streets where a stop-sign exists. This is one of many reasons why.
