Went to my first mini painting competition tonight. It was a speed-paint (2 hours) comp where you get a random mini and 6 random paints. I got a great palate, and I won first place! I also walked away with my first hob, which is a win on its own. Shout out to The Nerd Store, my FLGS

I think the big reason April Fool's Day sucks in the age of the internet is that the day is specifically designed for silly, low-stakes tricks. Putting the wrong cereal in the box, putting shoelaces in the spaghetti box, wearing your shirt backwards all day.

I’m painting minis for the characters in my daughter’s D&D game, and decided to take the chance to give speed paints an honest go. So long as I prime them properly, I feel like the results are excellent - especially for the time investment (35-45 minutes each)! #dnd #miniatures #miniaturepainting
