There’s a game on the Apple Store/Arcade called “Mini Motorways” and I swear town planners should play it. The aim of the game is to build roads connecting houses to workplaces, but you never win because the more roads you build, the more cars there are and the worse traffic gets until gridlock.

Translation: Don’t like people doing things I can’t. Driving through the mountains of Colorado the infrastructure is piss poor. Driving too fast around blind bends I’m often surprised to find other road users there because I’m a shit driver. Leaning on the horn at them only makes them angry.

It makes me faster because I’m trying to get away from people.

My little 30 yr old Marin held her own! I love that my suspension is infinitely tuneable based on how hard I pump up my (26”) tyres and how much I bend my knees and elbows.

Having a morning Mountain Biking at the local trail centre. I’ve only done it once or twice and it’s almost a totally alien culture! All these heavy bikes with massive tyres and everyone wearing baggy clothes! Great fun though!

Got my car back! Haven’t fixed the ACC yet, which did lead to 150 motorway miles with all the windows open, but my goodness it’s great. I still need to do some polishing - needs better tyres, but it’s wonderful. #WeirdCarBS #SAAB

Query! One of the things I like about my Campag Chorus cassette is how quiet the freewheel is. Until yesterday that is! I cleaned it on Saturday including Fenwicks Foaming Chain cleaner, which does an amazing job of cleaning your cassette, but I think it might have cleaned it too much…

Unexpected benefit to starting track cycling is being more comfortable on the drops on my road bike.

No mate, I won’t “pull over a bit so you can overtake”. The reason I was in primary was I could tell that you were the sort of person thinks that opposite a junction approaching a pinch-point is the perfect time to overtake a cyclist going faster than you’re legally allowed to go on that road.

This applies to both my camping and my cycling. And definitely applies to my cars.

So it turns out that buying a 25 yr old car that’s been sitting for a long time isn’t always the bargain you think it was. On the other hand, what I paid for it plus the repairs, is about the right price to buy one already working and I could sell it and make my money back. #WeirdCarBS #SAAB

Finally managed to take my track bike on the track! I’ve had Isabella for years and used to commute on her as a fixie with a front brake, but working from home and other stuff means I get to repurpose her back to her origins. I had brand new tyres and was terrified of sliding off, but all good!

I do love bikes. I’m not yet brave enough to do much on my bikes, so have a great mechanic. I had, across 3 bikes, the following: 1. New front pads and brake tune up 2. Wheels trued 3. More wheels trued and gears all tuned up <£50. That’s brilliant!
