I’ve been thinking about this a lot. The grievances of Trump’s mostly white coalition are consistently taken seriously while the grievances of folks traditionally outside that coalition are wholly trivialized.

17,000 Kansans have lost SNAP since the passage of HR1. That’s 10% of all SNAP enrollees. 9,000 of those Kansans who lost SNAP are kids.

This can’t be explained by changes in economic conditions. The unemployment rate ticked up slightly over this period & the cost of groceries remains high. 2.5 million low-income people didn’t drop off SNAP in just 5 months because they no longer needed help affording food.
