I'm just going to say... Any Supreme Court justice nominated by Trump should be ethically obligated to recuse themselves from any case before the court involving him or his interests. They literally owe him lifetime, prestigious employment.

It's disturbing how the Olympics are coming to the US under such similar conditions as they went to Nazi Germany in 1936. I can't believe the world isn't already boycotting this shit.

I can see it now. Democrats somehow manage to regain political power with the president performing damage control, going to our allies to try to make amends and to start rebuilding trust... Conservatives will call it an apology tour that makes us look weak. Like it's 2010 all over again.

It should go without saying that, short of undercover operations, there should be no such thing as "doxxing law enforcement agents". Their identity isn't supposed to be a secret. The public knowing who they are is how the public holds them accountable and builds trust. Noem's a fascist.

So many federal agencies playing military that the actual military is expected to be the ones to go the extra mile to properly identify themselves. ๐ Cosplayers should have to wear bright orange hats, like how toy guns need the orange tips so not to be mistaken for real things.

And this person posted this and prevented responses. Simple rule of thumb: if you can't take it, don't dish it. If you feel your opinion is so important that the world should hear it you'd better the fuck be prepared to listen to the world in return.

It took until a 7.5mg dosage of Mounjaro to feel like it's actually suppressing my appetite. Actually reminds me a bit of being on Keto in that I'm having fewer/weaker cravings for things. Side note: it's still fucked up you basically need really good health insurance for it to be affordable.

When a police force has lost the trust of the public, they've lost their mandate to enforce the law or act amidst that public. Every encounter presents de facto officer-created jeopardy that compromises the legality of their actions, thereby justifying legal self-defense against those actions.

Wow. Didn't see this coming a fucking mile away. ๐ This was always the obvious progression. Empower ICE to go after non-citizens, normalize it, celebrate it, deem all anti-fascists terrorists, hint at arbitrarily revoking citizenship of "bad people", revoke it from anyone labeled "anti-fascist".

I get so tired of people being able to lock posts and all conversations therein, interrupting all conversations. I don't know why platforms don't just let people ignore each other. That's how forums did it pre-social media. One person shouldn't have the power to silence another. /gripe

I can pretty much guarantee you that any country the US "acquires" is going to be relegated to being a territory just to deny them fair and equal representation that would threaten Republicans. New-age colonialism.

I see more places passing card transaction fees onto the people who choose to pay by card. I get the argument that those paying by cash/check shouldn't subsidize others' decision to use cards, but this is yet another small societal change that fucks over the poor.

If Trump thinks he can act militarily against other nations with with absolute impunity, you can bet your ass he'll think he can do the same against states. The stage is already being set.

I'm not sure if Claude Code is going to help my imposter syndrome or make it worse. On one hand, Claude blows sunshine up my ass and makes me feel competent. On the other, I don't know how to reconcile compliments for code quality from my peers when the code actually came from Claude. ๐ซค

The ignorance people display in defense of tyranny is both amazing and exhausting. Today's episode: how the Constitution's due process protections apparently don't apply to "illegal immigrants". JFC people are stupid.

I'm pretty sure it's reasonable to expect that of most people, if they had an armed, angry man storming toward their car yelling "get out of the car, get out of the car, get out of the fucking car!", their flight instinct would trigger and they'd try to get the hell out of there.

The same people who spent yesterday, and the past five years, insisting a Black police officer who shot an insurrectionist breaking into the Capitol should be prosecuted are today bending over backwards to defend an ICE agent who shot a woman in her car in cold blood. Scum.

The problem with our laws against insurrection is simple: they assume an overt and obvious rebellion. They offer no protection against death by a thousand cuts. And EVERY effort to undermine the will of the voters is a cut, from gerrymandering to disenfranchisement to bad faith acting in Congress.

"Iron laws of the world"? Some of America's most important national accomplishments are about leading humanity away from this kind of bullshit. If we let ideologues like Stephen Miller drag us back into a world where brute force is all that matters, all of us will be less safe.

People. Venezuela was always about drugs. Oil is the drug. The drug we're hooked on as a nation, that Trump has made sure we remain hooked on with his war on green energy. Him and the oil cabal WANT us addicted and NEED a new supply so they can continue to profit off us. It was always about drugs.

My prediction if the current trends continue: Republicans will market Medicare-for-All under a different name and present it as their solution. MAGA will love it coming from Trump's mouth. The left will spend the next 20 years telling the right it was literally their idea, to sounds of "nuh-uh!"

If just a relatively small percentage of Democrat voters moved from progressive stronghold areas to swing states, a Democrat presidency would be all but assured, and likely a strong senate majority. The margin would be even greater if they also moved to small-population red states.

How many American families could Trump have fed on Christmas for the same price tag as the bombs he dropped in some country thousands of miles away? If Marley and the three ghosts visited Trump, well... I'm pretty sure we wouldn't see Trump the next day.
