Today’s project: Bearing Edges on the Rogers kit The two rack toms have some gnarly grooves in the bottom edges that will need to be recut. I am pretty handy with drums, but on a vintage edge like this I’ll be taking it to a pro.. will post an update once they’re done!

Spent basically all night polishing chrome. Before and after of the logos, but I forgot to take a before of the lugs (they were pretty crusty but surprisingly only 2-3 were significantly pitting) Pro tip: crumpled up aluminum foil and coca-cola will get even the toughest grime off chrome.

Okay this is the last one for awhile I think, but I was given an offer I couldn’t refuse.. 1971ish Rogers Power Tones. One of the toms has some gnarly grooves in the reso side bearing edge, but otherwise seem to be in great shape! Just need some new heads and a bit of elbow grease 💪🏼

I set up a drum cam at band practice this week - here is the drum playthrough for our most recent single for anyone who is into this sort of thing!

First show of the year (!!) on the books last night, and another one tonight. Man it feels good to be back at it!

New single is out on all platforms! I played drums on this one, as well as did all of the production from tracking to mastering. I’m still learning for sure, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

A while back I made an effort to seek out more bands with women involved, and I found some of my absolute favorite artists that way. While I was able to balance out the gender of my listening trends, it still skews mostly white. Drop some non-white recs for me, preferably indie/alt bands!

I’m making a conscious effort this year to not spend any money that isn’t absolutely necessary, and if I do want unnecessary stuff I get it secondhand or from a local business. It’s good practice all the time, but my motivating factor right now is to give a giant middle finger to the Trump economy

This was my, like I assume many others, “gateway band” out of the strictly Christian music I grew up listening to as a kid. They were still Christian-adjacent, especially in their early stages, but they led me to some more traditional pop-punk and indie bands that shaped my music taste today.

Lately I have been recording my drum practice so when I feel like playing guitar I have drum tracks to play to. These drums were me jamming to “It’s Okay” by Land of Talk, everything else was freestyle and is wholly unrelated to the original song.
