As we approach Armenian Remembrance Day, we gather at the Capitol to honor the lives lost in the Armenian Genocide. We must never forget, and we must never stop working to ensure it never happens again.

The Armenian genocide is a historical fact, end of story. For far too long, families were forced to carry their stories without the recognition they deserve.

This week, I joined the Armenian National Committee of America to honor the memory of the 1.5 million Armenians who were killed in the Armenian Genocide and to reaffirm our nation’s commitment to truth, recognition, and education.

Joined advocates at the Capitol for Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. We remember the lives lost & recommit to truth, recognition, & justice. The CA Armenian Legislative Caucus, led by Chair John Harabedian, recognized the Armenian National Committee-WR for their decades of advocacy today.

Today I laid a wreath at the Cenotaph to commemorate the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. A solemn moment to remember, reflect and honour those who lost their lives.

Each April, Armenian Americans gather at the Capitol in Madison to commemorate the genocide of 1915-23 that was perpetrated on the Armenian people by the Ottoman Empire. I was honored to address this gathering today.
