An early morning start and visit to RSPB Leighton Moss. A lovely reserve always worth a visit. Rewarded with a family of four Otters from the hide. Amongst usual suspects were Marsh Tit too. Great start to the week!

Fungi finds from RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands on the weekend. Fungi isn't my strongest taxa when it comes to identification. Here's what I think I've recorded: Stereum sp, Jelly Ear, Orange Peel Fungus (Aleuria sp.), Elf Cup Fungus (Sarcoscypha sp.) and Yellow Brain. Happy to be corrected.

1/4 Over the last few years of wildlife recording on my wanders I have recorded quite a few species of Coleptera. I find this group of insects fascinating but ID can be tricky with upto 4,500 species in the UK alone. Lesser Stag Beetle, Rough Violet Ground Beetle, Green Tiger Beetle, Rose Chafer.
