Wednesday 19th Nov What a difference a week makes and the bonus of some longed for winter weather conditions (very cold & sunny) resulted in 4 #foxes seen. Here's 2 of them.

Had an absolutely brilliant long weekend with Storm, Rudie & wee Fliss ❤️ Fliss pure cracks me up when you tell her to say "cheese" 😂 Said my goodbyes 😭 and now to start with my long trek back to Glasgow..

Getting sorted for my travels to Yorkshire this afternoon to go and see my 2 daughters ❤️❤️ & my beautiful wee granddaughter Félicité, aka Fliss ❤️

Wednesday 12th Nov My first patch walk since Saturday and my last one till the middle of next week produced some nice examples of Candlesnuff Fungus (F&C Canal) #fungifriends

Saturday 8th Nov I actually found something today, the first time in doing so since last weekend 😃 Velvet Shank : my first of the autumn/winter (Kelvin Walkway) #fungifriends

If anyone's wondering, i'm still here. It's just that there's been nothing to see or photograph. The weather's not helping at all. Ok, it's been mild but lt's like there's no demarcation between night & day, just constantly dark 😩 God! I hate this time of year!

Update regards the tenanted leafmines l found on Himalayan Honeysuckle. The brown cocoons make them Phyllonorycter emberizaepenella. Species #165 (all stages,no trapping) for the year. #teammoth

Sunday 2nd Nov A couple of #fungifriends from early morning ; Jelly Ear : first time i've seen this species growing at ground level (Crow Rd, Anniesland) White Saddle : a wee bit late this year (F&C Canal, Temple)

Sunday 2nd Nov Stopped off at Bingham's Pond on my way to Anniesland and was quite surprised to see a Kingfisher. The surprise relates to the actual location of the pond. I've marked the pond on the map with a star and as you can see the bird was way out of it's usual river/canal habitat!

Friday 31st Oct Finished the week very much how i started it, with very little to report. Found a November Moth agg on the gable end of the Cafe on the Canal and some nice early morning light over Possil Marsh.

Monday 27th Oct A winter plumaged Black-headed Gull loafing on Bingham's Pond, Glasgow. I love the colours of the surrounding autumnal leaves reflecting on the surface of the water. #birds

I've had to dip into my rainy day folder but it wasn't raining... In fact it was a glorious weather day but there was nothing around when i was out and about. These 4 were all from Seton Sands/Port Seton back in Sept. Carrion Crow, Great Black-backed Gull, Turnstone & Ringed Plover. #ukbirds

Friday 24th Oct Another well under par walk, this time from Clydebank > Maryhill. The fog didnae help at all ; Pied Wagtail & Common Gull both from Clydebank Shopping Centre.

Monday 20th Oct Not a bad wee walk early morning ; Curlew : 1 heard & seen, heading SE over Kirklee Rd. A patch first 😃 Fieldfare : 2 NE over the F&C Canal, Maryhill : My first of the autumn/winter. Peltigera sp : several large patches, F&C Canal.

Sunday 19th Oct No walk taken due to the wet weather but the Tesco windows produced this Mayfly sp. No rain forecast for tomorrow so hopefully there'll be more to report.

Saturday 18th Oct A walk through Hamiltonhill Claypits early morning produced my first Redwings (heard only) of the autumn/winter, a young Roe Deer ran across the path right front of me.... and these ; Field Vole nest under a piece of broken concrete pipe and a very dark Ruby Tiger caterpillar.

Friday 17th Oct Checked around the outside lights at the Cafe on the Canal and the gable end wall produced 3 November Moth agg, all of which had different colours/markings. #teammoth

Friday 17th Oct If there's an outside light source and no matter how obscure it is i will check it out 👀 This roadside advertising board on Balmore Rd produced 2 November Moth agg and my first Mottled Umber of the year. #teammoth

Friday 10th Oct Had to go into the city to buy some train tickets to go and see my 2 daughters & granddaughter next month. I walked it along the canal but not a lot doing : the Oily Waxcaps i found last week had now matured and 4 Cormorants were roosting/preening on one of the lights along the M8

Thursday 2nd Oct A few #fungifriends from Cadder/Summerston on my walk to Asda. The best and only one id'd was Blackening Waxcap.

I was passing Lochburn Rd early morning so i thought i'd show you one of the entrances to the carparks where i find quite a few moths throughout the year. Unfortunately no moths were to be found this time despite it being 15°c overnight. #teammoth
