Tuesday 21st April Not really an highlight but the only notable from my early morning walk was a garden escape Wood Spurge 'Euphorbia amygdaloides' subspecies 'robbiae' on the wooded side of Bingham's Pond, Great Western Rd. #wildflowers

Monday 20th April Surprised to find a couple of moths due to the low overnight temp but find some i did! #teammoth

Friday 17th April Aspilapteryx tringipennella : caterpillar in a spun Ribwort Plantain leaf (Hamiltonhill Claypits) Collected to rear through. A welcome find after missing out on this species last year. #teammoth

Friday 17th April Started my walk off with this Giant House-spider 'Eratigena' on a brick wall along the F&C Canal, Maryhill.....and it was indeed a giant! One of the biggest ones i've ever seen. #spiders #arachnidae

Wednesday 15th April Started my walk off with 2 new for the year #birds Swallow : 1 around the derelict buildings at the top of Lochburn Rd. Grasshopper Warbler : 1 reeling from the old golf course (Ruchill)

Tuesday 14th April 4 of the 5 #foxes seen on my walk back from Clydebank. Interestingly all of which were still wearing much of their winter coats and i don't blame them, It was 0°c

Sunday 12th April Only the one highlight from my early morning walk ; Western Skunk Cabbage 'Lysichiton americanus' : this naturalised non-native is found at several sites along the banks of the River Kelvin but not in any great numbers. #wildflowers

Thursday 9th April Just a short walk early morning and i found another juvenile Araniella sp on a fence rail along the F&C Canal, unfortunately for this one it was playing host to a Parasitoid Wasp larva! #spiders #arachnidae

I see the crew of Artemis II parachuted back to earth using Tunnocks Teacake wrappers!

Tuesday 7th April Cigar Galls, on Common Reed 'Phragmites australis' : caused by the Frit Fly 'Lipara lucens' (The Saltings, Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire) I'll try and get a pic of this years new galls when they're fresh. #galls

Monday 6th April Mating pair of Lesser Black-backed Gulls on the roof across from our tenement (Maryhill) At least one pair have already started nest building. #birds

Monday 6th April The only notable from this morning was finding some spun leaves of Ribwort Plantain. I was hoping for something different but oh no! The occupant turned out to be a Light Brown Apple Moth caterpillar again. That's the 5th different host plant for this species this year. #teammoth

Friday 3rd April Marbled Beauty : caterpillar found on the front of a tenement on Shakespeare St, Maryhill. I won't be attempting to rear this one through. I've never had any luck with lichen feeders! #teammoth

Monday 30th March It's not very often you go for a walk at this time of year and come back with nothing! Well, that's what happened to me this morning. However, the day was saved by this Dermestes sp larva, found in the stairwell of our tenement. #beetles
