A movie couple who would definitely have a podcast

Found out today we’re completing on our Spanish house at the end of this week. Celebrating by drinking Rioja and watching Volver.

Krakow has lots of green spaces with loads of park benches which aren’t designed to hurt homeless people. Seems to me if you have misgoverned your society to the point you have a homeless population, the least you can do is give them somewhere to sleep.

Watched Gunn’s Superman for the first time the other day. It was fun and light of touch but perhaps leaned too far the other way in trying to redress the over sincere Snyder films (I still enjoy MOS). The standard by which all will be measured still remains Donner’s 1978 Superman.

Just watched Mission Impossible The Final Expositioning.

By 2022 I hadn't really painted for years, and I remember the day I painted this eye in; Burton was suddenly in the room with me. It's a large painting that has an almost religious quality. It was a thrilling experience that imbued me with all of the awesome creative potential of the universe.

Terry Hall 2023 This isn’t my best painting but it’s what I was capable of at the time, and I wanted to celebrate him following his death. Terry’s album ‘Home’ saved my life in 1994, and I was always a little bit in love with him after that. Transference? I cried like a child the day he died.

Whenever I hear or read the words ‘Paris, France’ my mind immediately goes to this scene.

Watching the BBC’s adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and I’m marvelling at the time it takes, the stillness and of course that wonderfully bleak washed-out 70s look. It also features Michael Jayston, who I did a Casualty episode with years ago.
