Sacramento representing well! Proud of my city on this. Also, it is sincerely frustrating that LA both wants billions in cap-n-trade money taken from CAHSR for their own projects, while they vote not to house people near transit.

I'm super grateful to all the people involved in working on this legislation and my Sacramento reps, Assemblymember Krell and @senatorashby.bsky.social, for the aye votes. This may be the most important bill to pass the legislature this year.

The Sacramento skyline deserves another skyscraper or two.

Pretty big apartment complex looks like it's nearly completed at Broadway and 16th in Sac. Broadway is along the bus route (51) that is planned to become SacRT's first BRT line.

Somewhat unrelated, but we need more apartment complexes with grocery stores in them.

CAHSR has been signalling they should pivot towards Gilroy/Palmdale for a while now. Not sure how Merced was blindsided by this. Especially since they would need legislature direction to shift course anyways. But Gilroy/Palmdale seems like the best path to take, imo.

People are not very informed about the steps CAHSR has taken to improve the issues that plagued it at the outset. We can talk about what should have happened, how it should have started, but the Authority is in a *much* better place than it was in 2008-2012 and it's going to be (is being) built.

I'm sure there's a good reason why not, but it's unfortunate that the Gold Line terminates at Sac Valley Station and doesn't push just a little bit farther and drop off directly in Old Sac. Seems like a missed opportunity, especially right outside the Railroad Museum.

Looks like the uplifted dirt has been filled in here. Not sure what the next steps are, but will be cool when this area of the Railyards is concretely connected to the river!

I think a really important thing is giving yourself permission to do thing slowly. You aren’t going to cook a good meal rushing, aren’t going to write a good book rushing, aren’t going to enjoy your day with a friend rushing. It’s really important to practice intentional slowness sometimes.

I spent 7 hours yesterday trying to get my router to work with a new modem. On the phone with my ISP, on the phone with the router company, nothing worked. Before returning the modem this morning, I decided to try one more time. Of course it works now.

Having spent the past two weeks in France, I’m astounded at how much better city life is in Europe than in America, and I never put it together that one reason is that both parties starve blue states and cities. Rs because they hate city dwellers and Ds to seem unbiased (and to buy rural votes)

Seems like Ian Choudri, CAHSR CEO, is banking on the $1 billion p/year Newsom guaranteed in budget as less of a funding mechanism in and of itself, and more of a backstop to then get private investment to speed up the project. I hope it works.
