My son finally got to come home yesterday after a month in the hospital for high-dose chemo, bone marrow transplant, and 20+ days in isolation for a bacterial colonization. We’re back at the hospital for routine labs and this Halloween treat has caused a crashout due to his dairy allergy.

My son is in the hospital for 4 weeks for a bone marrow auto-transplant, been inpatient about 50 days since April. He’s locked on to the universal nurse question, “can I get you anything else?” when leaving, and is now asking for “cars” a dozen times a day. Gonna clean this place out of Hot Wheels.

Fun week to be nuking our son’s immune system to transplant a new one (his own, actually, but with less cancer) while also sometimes existing in a society
