Agree with all of this. The humbling you feel when writing in a zeitgeist and the stats are on a curve and I look all of it and go what am I doing here. Why am I feeling this way. What do I actually want. And WHAT I WANT always is connection and community and stats don’t do that for you.

This is such an important thing. It wasn’t until my therapist pointed out the perils of my people pleasing that I started to get a handle on not caring as much about stats. That and seeing it drain joy out of friends. I suggest writing a rarepair (and I mean really rare) too. It really does help!
