UPDATE: I have found the kind of job I think the robots should be doing, and are good at. I dumped my messy citations into the robot, and it formatted them for me, in alphabetical order. With British punctuation, but American dates still. It saved me so much time. 😭

I am beginning to suspect I did not do myself a kindness by haphazardly chucking incomplete and unformatted sources for my bibliography at the end of each chapter to deal with later. Later will be soon and Future Me will likely shake her fist at Former Me.
