Crowdfunding campaigns are stressful + expensive. Rather than spend ~40% of funds on stuff that isn't the book, we'd rather a most of that go to making the book happen. Rather than ask you to risk your money in something that may never exist, we'd rather give you something tangible for your money.

#4: Letting the Animal Take Control One of the most important moves in the game is "Let the Animal Take Control". If you are transformed and need to do something your character's stats aren't good at, you can let the animal do it better, as long as its something the animal is good at.
