Humans can know intuitively when biodiversity is suffering, study finds

this is a HUGE loss for anyone trying to track changes in species distributions as the climate changes- if you need to know "hey were [insert species] in [place] in the mid-1800s", the odds are good your only info is a random book published back then. i've used it extensively!
