I'm exploring using Observable Framework as the foundation for a plain-text JS notebook, à la Clerk (clerk.vision). early impressions are positive. editing is easy. it's trippy (in a good way) to have Copilot and Prettier activate while writing notebook cells! my plain-text era is in bloom. 🌼

buoyancy is surprisingly subtle. easiest to understand with a macro energy argument ("universe wants heavier stuff to be lower; would rather water be lower and styrofoam higher, so it floats") micro argument requires thinking about water pressure? and funky geometry? woah
