Righted a great wrong today - finally beat Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars! Unsurprisingly, it was as amazing as I would expect after being recommended it for years. Can’t wait for the Reforged treatment of The Smoking Mirror to come out!

Just wrapped up Beyond a Steel Sky! I wasn’t a fan of the focus on hacking rather than inventory based puzzles and the story took a while to ramp up. But I enjoyed it overall, and it tied into the first game’s story in some really cool ways! Doesn’t beat the original, but still a great adventure!

Finished Alien Incident tonight! Aside from a surprisingly long random maze sequence, it was a fun time with some beautiful art and animation!

Had the urge to play something dumb, so figured I’d use the chance to play through the Duckman game. Hoo boy, some of the dialogue has not aged well - but hey it was well animated and easy enough to get through.

Some neat finds at the local recycled computer shop! No horrific face mask box, but still excited to own Suspended along with its hint book. The Legends of Kyrandia looked like the previous owner had torn the front off the manual and stuck it in the jewel case. 😅

The Neverhood (1996)

After years of trying and getting stuck at a dead end, I finally beat Zak McKracken today (with some heavy use of hints and walkthroughs)! I love Zak as a character, and even though the game is brutally difficult I am glad to have finally seen it through to the finish!

Was excited to find a copy of Beneath a Steel Sky for under $40 after finishing the game for the first time recently - everything in great condition too!

Picked up a copy of Alien Incident because you can never have too many adventure games in your backlog! Looking forward to playing through this one - crazy to think this developer went on to make Returnal (which I also haven’t played yet but hear is pretty great?).

Starting the year right by playing through some older adventure games in between the titles I’m working on for reviews. Somehow I have never played Beneath a Steel Sky before, and I am loving it so far!

Finally finished the epilogue of Hades 2 tonight - still stand by it being my overall 2025 GOTY.

Ordered a CIB copy of I Have No Mouth with no photos or description other than it being complete, was pleasantly surprised when a SEALED copy arrived! Not a bad way to get 2026 started. 😁
