I’m glad that not every new adventure game comes in a big box. If they did I’d run out of space overnight. 😅 For $20 I couldn’t say no to a beat up Flight of the Amazon Queen!

A local friend/collector helped me track down one of my most wanted big boxes - still feels crazy that it’s real. 😅 It also came with a ton of other games that I’m excited to dive into!

Finished Touche: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer! Gorgeous background art and fun writing makes up for the repeated lines and reused character models. Also Geoffroi’s banter with Henri is great!

Just finished Flight of the Amazon Queen for the first time - was better than I thought it’d be, with a pretty fun story and Joe King being a genuinely great protagonist! RIP Big Stick 🪾

Spent a sick day playing through Orion Burger - I was really impressed with it! Makes me a bit bummed that it’s so dang hard to find, but at least it’s easy to get running in ScummVM once you have a disc.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (1997)

Just beat Tangle Tower after binging it in a single sitting - I had played the previous Detective Grimoire game about a decade ago (and the flash prototype) but I somehow had never gotten around to playing Tangle Tower. With the sequel coming this year, I finally got caught up. Glad I did too!

Finally beat The Seance of Blake Manor today - legitimately one of the best deduction games I have ever played.

One of my favorite Nightdive remasters just got even better!

Righted a great wrong today - finally beat Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars! Unsurprisingly, it was as amazing as I would expect after being recommended it for years. Can’t wait for the Reforged treatment of The Smoking Mirror to come out!

Just wrapped up Beyond a Steel Sky! I wasn’t a fan of the focus on hacking rather than inventory based puzzles and the story took a while to ramp up. But I enjoyed it overall, and it tied into the first game’s story in some really cool ways! Doesn’t beat the original, but still a great adventure!

Finished Alien Incident tonight! Aside from a surprisingly long random maze sequence, it was a fun time with some beautiful art and animation!

Had the urge to play something dumb, so figured I’d use the chance to play through the Duckman game. Hoo boy, some of the dialogue has not aged well - but hey it was well animated and easy enough to get through.

Some neat finds at the local recycled computer shop! No horrific face mask box, but still excited to own Suspended along with its hint book. The Legends of Kyrandia looked like the previous owner had torn the front off the manual and stuck it in the jewel case. 😅

The Neverhood (1996)

After years of trying and getting stuck at a dead end, I finally beat Zak McKracken today (with some heavy use of hints and walkthroughs)! I love Zak as a character, and even though the game is brutally difficult I am glad to have finally seen it through to the finish!

Was excited to find a copy of Beneath a Steel Sky for under $40 after finishing the game for the first time recently - everything in great condition too!
