Was smiled down upon by the Half Price Books gods today 😭 The King’s Quest box is pretty beat up, but it’s all there with all the inserts (even the hint book which was a cool surprise). Shadow of the Comet I’ve wanted to play through for ages - looks like now I have no excuse!

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve played a game released in 2025 that directly references Rule of Rose, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Ripped the bandaid off and started Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 tonight. And after the first few hours it’s genuinely… fine? More an immersive sim than an RPG, but the writing is solid so far even if the combat is sub par. Doesn’t come close to the original, but still fun for what it is.

Just rolled credits on Hotel Barcelona - honestly, this is my new favorite game behind Deadly Premonition that SWERY has made. It’s janky and unpolished but the art, vibe, and world are all just so fun! It’s just pure insanity in every way, and it oozes 80s horror charm.

To anyone bummed about a certain less than stellar sequel to one of the best narrative RPGs ever created, might I recommend the year’s best vampire RPG with a little Cabernet? 😉 adventuregamehotspot.com/review/3954/...

Finally started playing Hotel Barcelona today - I legitimately don’t understand why it’s reviewing so terribly. It’s unpolished, but the world and characters have tons of B-horror movie charm. We’ll see if my opinion changes after beating it, but I’m enjoying it a lot so far.
