The most noticeable difference without cars at Sunset Dunes is you can now hear the ocean. No honking, no engines, no exhaust to breathe. I took this standing where the roadway was.

San Francisco’s west side now has a dedicated skate space at Sunset Dunes park. Developed with input from local skate advocates, the facilities celebrated their opening today with a community event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sloat Boulevard.

Checked out Sunset Dunes Park in SF today for the first time since it opened. It was 55 and cloudy, but hundreds of people were out. There are hammocks, a jungle gym, and a stunt park, which were all in heavy use. There were children on bikes smaller than I knew existed. It was a nice time.
