Hearing about the experiences of nurses working in conflict areas -120beds-700 patients, only 1 operating theatre Mass casualties 70 -100 with major traumatic injuries,up to 50% children,only 3 units of blood.So sad to hear this.Credit to those working there under such horrific conditions #RCN25

First resolution of the day . A new credit union would a good way for members to save . Savings build up . Credit unions do not pay out to shareholders . They reduce the use of credit cards.

Improve social care isn’t just an efficiency issue! This is about people. Patients who decondition while waiting for discharge. Families in distress. Nurses caught between impossible decisions. And a social care workforce that remains underpaid, under-recognised, and overlooked. #RCN25

Listening to an interesting discussion around the use of #AI in nurse education. AI can proof a valuable tool in nursing education if done right. It needs managing well and there is a need to learn to use it well. Nurses can not be replaced but AI can be a good sidekick. #RCN25

392 patients waiting to access a hospital bed in NI. The moral injury to staff, especially out of hours, is devastating. Patient acuity doesn’t decrease at night, yet we’re left with skeleton staffing for half the year. The frustration of being unable to provide safe, effective care is unbearable.

Nursing is not a vocation. It’s a highly skilled, safety-critical profession. It takes a remarkable person to work in nursing. Today, we look back on #NursesDay 2024, and extend our thanks again to nursing staff everywhere for the difference they make every day.
