I think the better way to look at this kinda thing isn't "you should play bad games" Rather "play games that interest you, even if they are supposedly bad, and don't exclusively play games that are rated high."

I also tend to feel this way, every single person that advocates for more expensive games feels like they'd also hate indie games and consider them games for poors
