well, just had my biometrics appt, which was weirdly dehumanising and humiliating in a way I’m struggling to articulate, so that’s nice. At least it’s done.

So I got into fannish spaces via a fandom I wasn’t into through a school friend (pre @walkthegale.bsky.social), meaning I read my first fic on the GFW (Gargoyles Fan Website) when I was about 14, for, you guessed it, Gargoyles. Probably something original though, Gargoyles was big for that.

T is not the only person I know hunting right now and this feels *so* painfully true. It has only gotten worse since I got this job last year, too, but this still feels reflective of my experience then.

so this made me want to listen to miss saigon. but I only remembered wanting to listen to A MUSICAL. So I tried: - you’re a good man charlie brown - operation mincemeat - rent - moulin rouge - fun home - chicago (so close) Then I watched a show with surprise Jonathan Pryce & finally remembered. 😂

I’m torn between a Wicked medley, Wait for It (or a medley) from Hamilton, or Never Look Away by Vienna Teng. Or maybe It’s All Coming Back To Me Now. Or something Greek. Or a Chess! medley? OK no this is too hard. 😂

I can see myself maybe figuring out spins some day (ballet helps) but the jumps truly look like sheer witchcraft. (This isn’t a reflection of what I think is harder, I’m sure it’s all hard, just knowledge of my own body.)

I considered tuning in for the final flight of the women’s free skate last night but I’m glad I waited to watch it all sequentially today, the build of the evening’s mood is part of the joy. Also I love this beautiful tall Swiss skater(Livia Kaiser).

I’ve reconsidered: it’s beyond odd and I’m not into it. Feel like countries are already famously fairly happy to expedite an application from an Olympic athlete for citizenship, seems unfair to then give an additional option alongside that.

Happy one year to me and my first pair of ice skates! To celebrate, I got up an hour early to go to the ice rink before work for baby’s very first patch ice session. 😂
