I've incorporated the Span type into my macro-based local record store. For fun, I made some benchmarks, but I have not done *any* optimizations. Speedup with Span: ~ 1.2x. (Unfairly) compared to Core Data: ~2x. github.com/mattmassicotte/Empire

I predict this trend accelerates. Working with others is hard, and it will not get easier. But producing software has and that will continue. So we'll see more and more software, less and less collaboration.

Maybe this is just me. But i feel like i'm seeing open work happening, maybe more so, but feels less collaborative and more individualistic than ever.

The Cardo Packtalk Outdoors has some serious design issues, a poor app, and is really expensive. But wow, also just incredible.

I've now successfully used `~Copyable`, `~Escapable`, and `Span`. Very powerful, very specialized tools. Swift APIs you use might get safer/faster because of them. But I doubt you need to use, or even understand this stuff. Safe to ignore, along with `borrowing` and `consuming`.

I think it would be super cool if Bluesky would add structured profile metadata fields, like Mastodon has. And it would be extra super cool if they added ActivityPub validation like GitHub does. Helping people find people is good!
