The narrowed any Swift proposal is a cautionary tale. LLMs enabled rapid development and incredibly technical writing. But that was the *exact opposite* an effort like this actually needed. Work that involves other humans is getting harder, and those skills are becoming more valuable than ever.

Swift package traits are the real deal. Some bugs to shake out, but they are so powerful. Just an incredibly useful tool for minimizing transitive package dependencies (which people hate) without also sacrificing functionality or making things very complex.

Much needed clarification. Posting idle thoughts is dangerous. SwiftUI isn't going anywhere! It's very popular and for good reason. But I think Apple execs could be receptive to the argument that it's getting pretty mature now and AI means it is less important than ever to push so hard.

I spent a little time today on my multi-cursor library. Can now interoperate with other apps that use the multiple selection pasteboard support, like Xcode.

It sounds like the Bluesky's team use of AI was not a factor in their downtime (a DDoS), but the appeal of that narrative was huge. So interesting as an outsider though! Because AI is a form of delegation (IMO), studying the psychology of trust is going become pretty darn important.

We all indulge in superficial criticism from time to time and that's (mostly) fine. But wow. Thoughtful, well-articulated, specific criticism is something else. And combine that with a willingness to understand and engage with the real tradeoffs? Five stars would argue again.

I have to say, I'm getting discouraged. I am intentionally avoiding a library that could handle this. But that is because I want to understand how ATProto works at the protocol level. And I'm beginning to think it could just be beyond me. The level of complexity is overwhelming.

I've been thinking on this lately. Adding internal concurrency to a thread-unsafe type like this should possible, and it is. But should it be easier? I don't think so, because you should probably avoid it unless you have no other choice.
