After a thoughtful nudge, I have renamed my "Lock" package to use the term "Gate". And while I was in there, I updated a bunch of things, including finally getting a recursive gate working! I have found this kind of tool incredibly useful for managing actor reentrancy with Swift Concurrency.

I find the idea that AI is a compiler or abstraction very strange. But I do think "delegation" is getting closer. (I still don't buy that it is a "tool", even if it can be used like one.)

I've incorporated the Span type into my macro-based local record store. For fun, I made some benchmarks, but I have not done *any* optimizations. Speedup with Span: ~ 1.2x. (Unfairly) compared to Core Data: ~2x. github.com/mattmassicotte/Empire

I predict this trend accelerates. Working with others is hard, and it will not get easier. But producing software has and that will continue. So we'll see more and more software, less and less collaboration.
