I wonder when I’ll feel less broken and when things will feel less difficult. Many aspects of life feel needlessly hard (as I’m sure they are for a lot of people) and man… is it increasingly draining

Haydo is out for a little bit so I’m listening to “Fugazi - Repeater” with Pippin whilst Pippin wonders if Haydo is ever coming back (spoiler: they are) I don’t make much time to listen to records these days. I should do it more often

There was a time I loved Brewdog. I mean admittedly that time was years and years ago now but… I have some great memories of going there (particularly with @moofy.dog close to 10(!) years ago) and I feel sorry for anyone who worked in their bars who is now unemployed (1/2)

It feels really strange to hear there’s been all this new Overwatch content come out since August last year and just… not feel any urge to “take a look” or play it. I wasn’t even aware it’s just been renamed back to just Overwatch and had a refresh/reboot until today (1/?)

I have so many photos of Pippin either asleep or looking sleepy, which is probably why iCloud keeps moaning at me that I’m running out of space… worth it though! I could probably do this kind of post on here daily for months, haha

I’m strongly considering going down the grief counselling/therapy route after rebuffing it for months as, even though I felt like I’d been doing “okay” just before Christmas, it now feels very obvious that I’m actually not doing okay after all now that life has slowed down a little

I’ve nearly finished this now and damn has it worn thin by the end. I’m glad it’s almost over… long, boring levels with way, way too many “kill a load of enemies to progress” set pieces. A shame, really

Because I’m apparently unable to (mostly) play anything other than FPS games these days I’ve started Warhammer 40k: Boltgun. I’ve had this on my “to play” list for FOREVER and my first impressions are that it’s pretty good! I worry it’ll wear thin if it doesn’t mix up the gameplay but we’ll see!

Why am I at work for six days in a row now, I do not want this. I want to be a bear or a dog or just… something that isn’t being back at work

Anyway, I’ve made the most of my last morning off by finishing PO’ed… which was a complete slog by the time I got to end of it and I’m glad I never played it until now. It’s interesting in places but oh man was it hard work to get through

I’m back at work tomorrow after (almost) a week off and whilst I didn’t do much for most of it because of the snow and ice that overshadowed the last few days I still feel really good after relaxing and resting a lot... I just don’t wanna go back, haha

I am very, very sleepy though

The Bears won (tired as I mostly stayed up for it) and I’ve been out for a nice long, cold walk with Haydo and the sausage and now we’re gonna watch a couple of films… a good end to the weekend

The road behind our house (where we park our car) is still so iced over it’s probably not a good idea to try and go anywhere, blah… I guess it’s another “go for a couple of walks and watch some YouTube and films with the heating on” day, huh (not a bad thing!)

I’m off work this week (apart from being in one day tomorrow to help another manager out by doing him a favour) and there’s already news trying to ruin it. Head office moving goals and expecting even more whilst giving you absolutely no more resource to make it happen. It’s January 6th, why now

The first game of 2026 is done and it was… Turok 2. I quite enjoyed the first and wasn’t planning on playing it so soon after that but it was on sale for £3 and decided I’d go straight in. I kind of wish I hadn’t as whilst I still enjoyed it… man the levels are huge and way too long for my liking

I’ve been thinking a lot about MTV closing the channels that actually showed music videos in Europe a lot since it happened a few days back and I think it’s bothered me a lot more than I expected it to

Shit 2025 things: - My dad died unexpectedly (I’ve struggled to cope) - I’ve felt like I’ve not been anything close to 100% there for people (particularly Haydo) because of that - Work became even harder, being expected to do even more with much, much less - The Jays lost the World Series 4-3

My phone seems to have updated itself whilst I was asleep and now runs even worse than when iOS 26 released. There’s so much stuttering/lagging whenever I do basically anything but hey at least icons now do more light reflections and look like they’re tilting whenever I move my phone slightly, 10/10

I got a GDEmu clone for cheap (around £25 I think!) recently and have enjoyed tinkering with it. The GDRom drive in my Dreamcast was dying and kept struggling to load games (particularly Sonic Adventure) so it was nice to get around that problem and have access to every game released for it too

I left half a Chocolate Orange on the coffee table last night and came home from work tonight to find Haydo had eaten some of it… life imitating art

I still have PO’ed to play at some point (a game I’ve never played before but I assume I’d have enjoyed back in the day) but also really need to play Silent Hill F as I’ve been borrowing it from a friend for ages but not been in the mood for it yet. Hmm!

I’ve played quite a few old-school FPS games this year and still feel like Exhumed was the one I enjoyed the most of them. I could do with spacing them out a bit more (although playing all three parts of the Shadowrun Trilogy back to back helped with that, heh) in the future

I finished the remaster of the first Turok game today and found it to be a pleasant experience overall. I only played it a bit on the N64 back when it was new (a friend had it) and didn’t get close to the end then But yeah, I liked it. It wasn’t too long and didn’t get too repetitive in the end too
