I've seen people complain about how fetishistic it is that Hinako is wearing a schoolgirl outfit, as if that's just not a very standard school uniform for the era lol. People will complain that "weebs" have a distorted view about Japan from anime, but the opposite happens just as often imo.

Reading through negative Silent Hill F reviews and people keep bringing up how weird it is that they got some "50 year old man who constantly writes stories about little girls" to do F's story, you can tell they're only aware of Higurashi after googling his name.

The question of if Silent Hill F is "Silent Hill" enough is just an extension of "Is Silent Hill 4 a proper Silent Hill game" when you get down to it.

The reason why nobody knew Shield Hero was up to season 4 is because some other isekai has been in the discourse spotlight since S2, meaning the other seasons got announced and came out while nobody was looking.

They should lean into horror shit more often, it's good.

That one CNET review of Silent Hill F is funny. Trying to tap into that 00's anti anime bias without realising that Higurashi is pretty much a universally beloved title. Even funnier that most reviewers do consider Silent Hill F to be well written too.

With the Chainsaw Man Reze movie performing well in Japan, i'm betting on fans of the animes first season to turn into Snydercut style fanatics that everyone comes to dislike.
