Well done to @omniplexcinemas.bsky.social who are the only cinema in the English Midlands who have managed to screen On Swift Horses at a time when people aren’t working. Frankly the showtimes from every other cinema that’s showing it around here are utterly shameful.

Looks likely that today is the last day that the mercury will rise above 20°C here for at least 7 months. I’m not a ‘the hotter the better’ kinda gay, and I definitely melt for most of the summer, but I’m also not a fan of freezing my bits off and having to go out dressed like an Inuit!

You can probably tell as much from the trailer but #TheLifeOfChuck is a delightful film that I’d recommend to all. In a way, nothing really happens yet it ponders existence in a way that warms the heart, and it does so mostly without veering too far towards schmaltz. 4/5 Out now in the UK
