just seen this post on Reddit about EA using delay to deny tactics to avoid refunding on marketplace purchases... Hugely scummy and scammy and not at all surprising and just another reason to not purchase anything through the marketplace !!

Reposting my nugget of wisdom!!! Why is this important? Because launching from the shortcut will patch your game first before it launches. Put your app in offline mode first then hit the play button next to the game you want to play offline, and you'll be fine till this horror show is over 🥴

Also if you have kits on your wishlist now before the patch drops is the time to buy. Because the marketplace is not player friendly designed. As announced the virtuel currency is purchased in packages not matching the pricetag. You will pay more because you always have moola left in your wallet.

There is now no demand for each pack to explore new styles. There is now no expectation for consistency in application of textures, weight, density. And there is now no requirement for custom content to ever come out from behind a paywall. What does it matter now that EA is getting its cut? 🤑

This. I hate to be a hater but this is an instance of where the creators' short-term success leads to long-term enshittification of official content. You just can't let a massive corp like EA print money like that. Once they get a taste, that's all they'll ever want to do.

So I blocked the EA*partner tag and they started using SimsPartner instead.
