So this is what I’m working on today: Gibbi Point’s local hippie hut. Mereana lives in tune with nature, her door’s always open, and people are always coming and going for tea, herbs, and good vibes. She organizes yoga retreats, and hopefully this will double as a hippie bed and breakfast.

Also I 100% recommend playing with camp counselors too and creating some fun schedules for them after the kids are asleep (not sure why the first image isnt loading but I give up)

So I will admit I caved and bought he new pack. Have been quietly playing all week and I will swallow my words now because this has been the most fun I've had with the game in a LONG while. Getaways are tricky to program but at least the summer camp (I tweaked the schedule) works great

So "players who choose to plan a Custom Getaway in advance will have to stick to playing the same household until their Getaway is over. Otherwise, the game will decide to remove the planned Getaway from the schedule Calendar."...but why would I want to switch households mid-getaway?

The custom venues feature is definitely very micromanagey …but I can also see it having a lot of potential if it works well. I guess we can finally create seasonal festival lots like in the sims 3, and different types of bars (sports bars, dive bars etc), bowling alleys, movie theaters…

so has anyone replaced the backdrop builds in Innisgreen town center yet? I don't mind the buildings themselves but the electric colors are an eyesore to me (sorry) and it makes it so hard to build anything that's cohesive. I never thought I'd see the day where I would think this is too much color

Looking at Gibbi Point, I can't help but wonder… maybe there’s no North Simerica or Simeurope. We've been looking at this all wrong an we’ve just been playing in Simoceania all along. If you think about it: deserts, forests, coastal towns, farmland...Australia and NZ literally have it all already

Another thing that really needs rework in TS4 is to streamline systems that are currently overlapping weirdly. I wish: - Lifestyles should be base game and updated - Traits need an overhaul: move "hobby" traits to preferences and lifestyles traits to lifestyles - Add more actual personality traits

It's funny TS4 lets us micromanage everything except...the save management itself. I wish there was an option for the game to just STOP: stop generating townies, stop moving sims around, etc. I'm honestly scared of hitting play after prepping a save because I know things will start deteriorating

I think I cracked the reason why I miss TS2 when I play TS4, and I miss TS4 when I play TS2. They're basically opposite experiences to me and for that reason not one feels completely right. My theories below, but would love to hear yours too?

The Sims 2 Legacy keeps crashing on me randomly like once every 1-2 sim days. I dont lose much progress because I save all the time, and the game saves before travelling to - but it's still tiring. Isn't this supposed to be optimised? Anyone knows if this is an issue?

I decided this EP isn’t for me. So much of it feels like workarounds for weak sim AI (just like the club system and small businesses). You have to micromanage it all and set everything up (in a hundred menus) just to get sims to act somewhat in character. And to me ends up feeling forced.

So I thought one Tara's cat was bugged. She NEVER eats from the bowls even though the other cats do. Turns out she's not bugged, she's just finicky (cat personality trait) and will only eat treats (and sometimes from the most expensive bowl too)

Between the EA Creator Network boasting the population of a small country and all the giveaways that are constantly going on , I can’t help but wonder: does anyone actually pay for The Sims anymore?
