Reached the milestone of 300 days alcohol free today. I started with the aim of going a year without booze and that now feels pretty close. But honestly I think my life is much better without booze so may well continue. I wish I could enjoy it in moderation but not sure that's possible for me

How is this ok? Women next to us on the Eurostar watching a film on their phone REALLY LOUD. Zero awareness of everyone else around, couldn't care less. I've got noise cancelling headphones on and can still hear occasionally, video doesn't do justice to how loud it is. Film sounds proper shit too

UTMB. Got it done. Some good (Courmayeur through to La Fouly), some bad (Les Contamines to Les Chapieux, so bad on the descent into Chapieux) and plenty of ugly (hallucinating my way down from Flegere to Chamonix). What an experience. What a journey. What an adventure. Proud to get that done

En route to Chamonix and must say that travelling by train is so much more pleasant than flying. Had a really lovely time in Paris with my wife yesterday and now chilling on a fast train to Geneva. And roughly the same price as flying. We get it so wrong in the UK 😢

Six months off the booze now and feeling so much better physically and mentally for it. Not sure if I'll ever go back. Original target was to go a year booze free, so will continue towards that and see how I feel at the end of the year. No hangovers and better sleep FTW though 👌

What an absolutely epic day out in the hills that was! It wasn't fast or pretty but got it done. And Crib Goch wasn't that bad, especially with a guide to reassure throughout. We started out at sunrise and finished just as the sun set and the mountains threw all sorts of weather at us

Train travel in this country is so broken. Just been looking at prices to get to the Lakes in July for some hills and it'd cost significantly less to drive and around the same to fly to the Alps. You'd have thought we should be encouraging train travel 🤷‍♂️

Out in Switzerland for Wildstrubel 110. It's very much turning out not to be the planned and trained for challenge. We're now going to be running the amended 70km route but better to be safe, there's a lot of snow out there and -10 to -15°C windchill. Still feel weirdly cheated though 🤷‍♂️
