As a youngster, Flannery O'Connor got in the news for raising a chicken who walked backwards, which, now that I'm raising chickens, I see as miraculous, but that's also just one of the many things about her that were.

I'm reading manuscripts for an undergrad writing contest I get to judge, and I just came upon a submission that is AMAZING. WOW. Never judged a contest before, maybe never will again, but I'm having fun.
