Many crops require shade, many animals can graze around panels, panels in fields encourage biodiversity. Put solar anywhere and everywhere we can.

Covering some fields is good when using low growth crops that need some shade. They also help keep the soil moist, encouraging better plant growth. Not all fields but some fields will benefit from solar farming.

The problem with the first picture is that they are not properly installed. In a field, they should be on stilts, so grazing and actual growing of crops can take place. Many agricultural crops DO BETTER in partial shade that the system would provide, and remote areas need the power. DO BOTH.

Yes to both, It's ok to cover our fields. Covering parking lots probably best in warm climates. Keeps cars cooler and snow management not an issue. Much better use than growing corn for ethanol. Compatible with grazing, native plant/pollinator restoration, and crops that appreciate a little shade.

If politicians considered fossil fuels to be a problem vs an investment, everything would have been fixed 50 years ago after the 1st gas crisis.

We need to think out of the box $100,000 to every American homeowner in tax credit or business to go renewable solar wind whatever is appropriate. The average house is worth $400,000. It fits into the scheme it would create jobs and deal seriously with our problem of getting off fossil fuels.

Interstate highways, train tracks, and power infrastructure are other great locations. And yes, agrivoltaic farming can be significantly more yield-efficient than either a bare field or covering it entirely.

Other great places where solar panels should be in place are man made reservoirs and also on the roofs of those storage unit buildings.

I agree with the notion of prioritizing covering paved areas like parking lots with solar panels, but agrivoltaic farming is also a great practice. I am firmly against clearing land for solar farms though.
