#Recalls Just started getting recipes from this site and today this came through. I guess SOMEONE is being careful to alert us if the FDA is not. Page through, there have been a lot of recent recalls that have kinda flown under the radar.

My favorite series was "Firefly" with the followup movie "Serenity". In the show the lingua franca is Chinese & Chinese is liberally sprinkled through the character's speech who use English. Firefly dates to 2002-03. Made ya wonder what the future held. We're seeing it now in real time. Gorram.

A jerk cutting across traffic into my lane this afternoon almost ended me but I saw him coming & my trusty Forester w/ autobrake stopped me nanoseconds before I got the brake down & swerved tightly to the right-inches away. Oncoming car hit him hard-he rolled twice.

#javalinas Here are our Happy New Year javelinas outside our window this morning. Mama has her head in a raised dish that holds a salt lick we put out for deer. The deer ignore it, the javelinas eat it like it's a candy bar. These babies are about 2 and 1/2 weeks old.

#biscotti The original recipe I got from Grandma T was on a 3x5 card with just the ingredients and very basic instructions. This is what I've developed with trial and error over the years. Hope you enjoy it! My friends tell me it's very good with a nice white wine.

#javalinas A herd came by our house & then went next door. Our neighbor doesn't have a wall & gate in front & these guys are forever ripping up delivered boxes. We installed a camera for her so we can monitor & chase them away. They were smelling the doormat but didn't get any prizes.Not today pigs!

#cats #heartbroken Just got news from my 97yo friend that my godcat Rooney passed suddenly from a saddleback thrombus. Rooney was a polydactyl Maine Coon at 23 lb with the sweetest personality. I am just heartbroken for her, Rooney was supposed to come to me if anything happened. And now he's gone💔

#Tucson #ICE Tucson Blueskyers, this emerged out of a community meeting after the ICE raid on Grande. Pass it along, keep a screenshot and if you see anything suspicious give them a call. The bad guys are bound to up their activity with so many holiday events going on in our neighborhoods.

#overwhelmed Not a great day. A bright spot was volunteering with 'my' cats, but it started out w/ a feather pillow seam ripping-yeah, feather world-someone left kleenex in pockets & the dryer was snowy & then 3 wool dryer balls went AWOL & the heated mattress pad died & USAA messed up my account.
