Good news related to the house! Looks like I won't have to use as much of the $$ I saved for a down payment to have the roof here redone! Getting it scheduled & it's a huge weight off my chest. Been so upset that I overpaid so badly here that even a new kitchen didn't increase the value

It's Monday and I stress ate enough calories to sustain a very large lion over the weekend. Fingers crossed that when I finally get the roof done nothing unexpected is uncovered causing costs to skyrocket. Current guy seems much better than the last 3-will look from inside unfinished attic spaces

Welllll-it was either lower the price or pay for a new roof. Have a different roofer coming next week to take a look (someone my realtor has worked with before). Regrets moving here; I has them. I can honestly say that it's not really feasible to be a solo woman in a MN small town

Roofer shows up & starts w/$35K for "typical roof" now. I basically call BS since I have two ACTUAL quotes prior to the storm that were $13K and $18K. So tired of this crap. Will see what he quotes & wait for the insurance guy on Tues to assess storm damage & probably just have to go w/prior quote

I desperately hope that the day he's brought to justice, he isn't permitted to live out his days in a mental health facility. I want to see him suffer like he's made the working class suffer for so many years. I want him to have NOTHING but a tiny jail cell, crappy food & only left leaning TV

SO much work ahead for us. Not only undoing the usual cut in the working class's standard of living, but also completely reforming our govt this time. Read someone else yesterday saying they hope Dems don't fall back to the same tactics they always do, & this time make REAL, lasting changes

Open house yesterday-no one came. Realtor office forgot to add the open house to listings but fixed it for today. Also, roof estimate today. Hate that everyone will think I'm greedy fixing the roof & not dropping the $, but insurance isn't covering any of it so I'm out $ for my a down payment.

Called to confirm & she's like "yeah, Bruce is w/our company & a different # is ok & we can give free estimate". Tell her I'm not in her service area, just keeps "free estimate" Nope!!

Nice day here today so took 1/2 day off & went for an 8.72 mile walk. Pics & vid shortly. Stopped on the way to get heat tape. If I was looking at this I'd be WTH? Uh, no. But it's the best I can do, works, & I didn't have to cut a hole in the wall (portables on casement windows are even harder)

Called in my roof claim and fingers crossed it's just repairs vs a whole new roof. I measured my fingers against the hail stones I took pics of & it looks like the largest stone was a bit shy of 3". The larger stones were all 2'-2.5". However, vast majority were more like the size of a quarter

Couldn’t sleep. Kept picturing the basement all soaking wet as if it took time to soak through the walls (because that happened in my 1st house). Checked & whew! It’s fine! To me it’s a stinky old basement, but given how much rain fell so quickly, it did better than that prior 1941 house. Impressive

Ok, guys-the metal flashing alongside the flat part of the roof was already bent, but now a lot worse (I think??). Can't see the flat rubber roof from the ground. Thoughts? Does the roof look bad?? Still no leaking, thankfully

Big hail storm just developed with only about 5 mins warning. I have such bad luck. No leaks but the roof tile is now toast. My deductible is $10k and I don’t know if they deduct for depreciation THEN do the $10k. Guessing so & I gotta come up with $20k now 😭

Reminiscing-climbed Mt St Helens (a short climb but an accomplishment)-summited 2X! Climbed in/out of the Grand Canyon. Won a bike series that took me years (not a lot of competition but did it). Ridden century rides. Tried Cyclocross racing, Mt biking, track (1X, terrifying!), road racing (cycling)

People are kind of rude when you have your house on the market. Someone literally just pulled into my driveway as I'm sitting in my living room waiting for the charity so they could look over the house. Jeez. Rude. I don't mind pulling to the curb, but in my driveway????

Forgot to post this the other day. Decided to check out a cemetery near a walking path. Seriously, is this like some kind of punishment cemetery? The rules are awful. No pets, weird rules that basically restrict flowers & plants, etc. I was kinda shocked. It’s an ugly place, too. Ew.

Selling's so disheartening. Asked for 2 hr notice but they do 30 & then cancel. People scheduling during the day when I WFH then ghost. Only 3 showings in my 1st week & they say the yard's too small. It's in the ad AND the drone shot. Both of today's canceled after I did prep AND rescheduled my work

If we win control in Nov I'd love to see some kind of legislation passed that allows states to stop sending funds to the Fed for a brief period of time as the infestation of our govt is cleared out & prosecuted. Red states would suffer, sadly for the blue dots. Dreams can come true, right?
