Nothing in MN has changed. They're still snatching people. Also staying/staged at a hotel in a city close by (about 15 miles from me). They apparently just took someone just a bit over a mile from my house (haven't seen any ICE on my street yet, but hard see into the tinted windows they have)

As if refusing to vote on any budget that includes ICE funding would result in allocated Federal tax dollars being used for anything other than lining Republican pockets. Refusing to fund the govt simply stops the Republican/billionaire gravy train at this point

I did make the local Indivisible call last night & will follow up further after work today. Interesting to note that there is an ICE presence in a local hotel & the owner won't kick them out (basically because he'd lose his franchise license). So yeah, (temporary) $$ over democracy

Wanna cry. Went to the local Mexican grocery-their door was locked & they had to let me in. They told me their business is suffering because people are afraid to go out. Showed her my driver license so she'd know I live in town & gave her my number for people to call so I can deliver groceries

It's really hard being so close to the metro but too far to come up & patrol & protest. Feels like sitting by & watching which is like not voting in the '24 election. Really hope there are marshal spots open. Didn't make it to the Somali grocery yet, but hope to after work 2day to offer delivery

ICE is in town (a mile or 2 from me). Not on the People Over Papers map, but on Show Me The News that they're also in my old hood in MPLS (Seward). Gaw, such sweet, lovely people who live in a large townhome complex across the St from the old house. I hope they're ok, but guessing some are not-awful

Decided to do 6 C kibble total today because Little cat showed up in the early am & got zippo. I'd put 2 full cups out before I closed up for the night, which Night Cat ate throughout the night. Sometimes he eats little; it's really hard to figure out how much to put out w/out attracting possum

Another extremely cold night on tap here with a low of -16°F. Anxiety about the utility bill coming the first few days of Feb is pretty high over here. Trying not to spend $$ now, but I hate cooking SO much & prepared food is now a luxury item (can't imagine what it must cost to dine out).

Local obvservation-even in frigid temps I usually see people who are probably Somali walking around (based upon the non-western clothing). I haven't seen them since I came back (although I'm not looking out all day). One lady who's not white has now been running by my house (to/from work, I think)

ICE is going to really enjoy it here when the weather warms up to the 20's. At these temps the ground is sort of sticky. As it warms people tend to think it's safer, but you actually get more glare ice & ice that's partially melted on top (water on ice). We can only hope that nature takes some out

Bondi's letter—essentially offering to stop attacking and murdering citizens in Minnesota in exchange for the state's voter rolls—shows what Trump, Miller et al. are really after: They want to fuck with the nation's elections so that they never have to cede power or answer for their crimes.

We all understand the risk of prosecuting where there's a chance the person may be innocent, particularly where the evidence has been compromised. But not bring charges in both murders is setting the stage for escalating ICE violence. I sincerely hope AG Ellison is willing to bring charges in both

Things suck so much lately that I decided to get a few THC drinks in addition to gummies (I do gummies for sleep). So many new marijuana products, yowza. TIL that car tire pumps don't work in subzero temps. Tried to put air in my tires (they get low in cold temps) & didn't realize there wasn't enough air going in & deflated my tires. Gas station manager explained it to me & a guy in the lot did, too. Ended up at the dealer after 2 gas station fails

Please, please don't succumb to violence! The last time it was agitators coming from out of start that started the fires & destruction (after they murdered George Floyd). Please don't stoop to that level, & try to stop any one you see doing it. I'd question if they are actually resistance members

This is something I didn't know. It really helps to follow some of these large accounts so I don't start yelling for things that simply can't happen (or blaming Dems for things like voting for voting when voting against it does nothing)
