In 2014, Saudi Arabia started a price war that dropped oil by 70%. In 2022, Canada's oil industry had record profits - with fewer workers because of automation. These were both "historic" events. Albertans have been hurt, but it wasn't other Canadians who did it. It was OPEC.

With Saskatchewan now well into the start of wildfire season (4 active fires, 68 to date), the SK govt still has not released the independent review of the handling of last year’s fire season.

Near Shellbrook, SK, SE winds today will continue to send smoke and drive the Lobstick wildfire towards the Town of Shellbrook.

Shellbrook fire: “The Saskatchewan Health Authority [is working to] evacuate 20 acute care patients & 33 long-term care residents from the Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook as a pre-emptive action due to risks from wildfires.” -SHA FB post

An emergency alert has been issued for RM of Shellbrook south of Hwy 3. Lobstick fire has jumped the N Saskatchewan River & is being driven by south easterly winds. Alert says be prepared to evacuate, avoid unneeded travel in area & close windows & vents to smoke.

Childcare is constitutionally a provincial responsibility. The federal government govt stepped in to provide extra support to expand childcare. Regardless of any fed rules, Saskatchewan govt is responsible & always has the choice to pay for this project.

Lobstick fire in Nisbet Forest appears to have crossed N Saskatchewan River last evening. The ~15-wide fire is now ~15km SE of Shellbrook, with winds today blowing towards the Premier’s home town & gusting to 45 km/h. Perhaps this will capture the Premier’s attention as to the wildfire situation?

SaskTel finally making much-needed security improvement to email security systems /filtering. Its email has become very phishy & spammy. The most aggravating spam is that coming supposedly from SaskTel itself or from one’s own address, as you cannot block it without blocking your own mail to self.
