What the heck is #newwest being turned into? I specifically chose to live in New West because of its diversity, walkability and size. I love living here but it’s not lost on me that the more visibly African/Black the city becomes, the more we hear these racist dog whistles and it’s disgusting.

I'm very proud to part of an organization that is expanding local coverage and remaining true to its mandate. Covering local news means accountability, community engagement, reflecting culture, giving a voice to people often not heard, and combatting disinformation. It's vital to democracy.
