If you’ve taught for a few years you’ve had a wildly disruptive grad student show up from an irrelevant department and troll every discussion. In the last few years, it’s become far more dangerous; that troll is trying to get you fired and your administration isn’t guaranteed to back you up.

Nobody cares about the victims in the Dallas ICE shooting apparently. The first I've heard about one of them was on CNN today. He's fighting for his life in the hospital --- he was brought to the US when he was 13. He's 33 now. No criminal record. I just don't know what to say anymore.

In a genuine WOW moment, this administration publicly acknowledges (perhaps for the first time) that an ICE officer violated procedure and will be taken off duty and subject to an investigation.
