An update from @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social who was on a congressional oversight trip to Dilley announces that the Gámez-Cuéllar family are being processed for release. Two parents and two sons are in Dilley; and 18-year-old Antonio is also being processed for release (he's being held separately).

In the #TX33 congressional runoff (a redrawn district), Colin Allred announces an endorsement from prominent pastor Dr. Freddy Haynes, who will be taking over Jasmine Crockett's seat. Allred is challenging sitting member Julie Johnson. The runoff is May 26.

Also, last week a Texas House Republican (Dan Crenshaw) lost his primary and another one, Wesley Hunt, opted not to run for re-election to launch a doomed vanity Senate run. Hunt was definitely MIA in DC and there's a lot of fears Crenshaw will do the same.

I'm seeing folks all over Texas, and really the country, outraged about this family with award-winning mariachis getting detained. An 18-year-old is being held at a separate facility over 200 miles away. And they're all facing deportation back to a country they fled to escape cartels.
