I'm begging the small local community groups in Ireland to please consider reframing their use of AI design work this way. The amount of drama and theatre groups in my sphere that I see using AI posters now just makes me sad.

The day after we put the final touches on issues #88-91 of “Swamp Thing”, news broke about the passing of Tatjana Wood, the original colorist on the series. Tomorrow, March 2nd, would have been Tatjana’s 100th birthday. Let’s raise a glass to one of comics’ originals.

Was so distracted and distressed by the news that I started work late, got to bed late, and now it’s 4 a.m. and I’m wide awake.

Lots of choppers overhead in lower Manhattan now. I guess Maduro is here. Fingers crossed it quiets down overnight.

Impeachment does not mean removal from office. We need more from our representatives.

I was going to check out some holiday lights in lower Manhattan later but now it seems best to steer clear. Chaos is coming.

Gearing up for a pre-snow marshmallow run. I’m going to hunker down to color for the next few days and hot cocoa is non-negotiable.

Christmas Eve fun: two hours trying to fix a dead Wacom tablet after the Mac Tahoe update. Driver shenanigans. In a nutshell: Adobe wants me to buy a newer tablet. Grrr. Oh Santa…?

Adobe half-installed a wonky version of PS 2026 on backup Mac. Without any of my crucial settings.They disabled PS 2025. No fixing it. Subscription software sucks. So a 90 min. trip back home, to my main Mac. Uber bailed, so 22° long dark icy walk from train station. Failed by big companies today. 🥶

Beware that Apple OS update to Tahoe. Deep regret. I always wait until bugs are worked out but my brain was mush when I clicked “update”. DON’T DO IT.

48 hours without heat is now fixed, thank goodness. But now it’s going to be a working weekend. Oh, and scrambling for new health insurance because politicians suck. My head hurts.

I spent days tediously assembling a Wayfair bureau only to watch it crumble into chunks of sawdust. Particle board hell. Three days worth of coloring income would have bought a proper wood piece. Lesson learned.

I just colored a cover so gorgeous I sent off two versions of it to the editor. And I might do a third version tonight while waiting (and hyperventilating) for feedback. God, I love this sedentary stress-inducing job. ❤️ 🎨

At Baltimore Comic-Con

I’ve got less than four hours to sleep before taking a 1 hour train to NYC and then a 3.5 hour bus ride to Baltimore. So of course my brain will not shut off. Surely looking at my phone will help.

I don’t have a table, but I’ll be wandering the Baltimore Comic-Con this Friday & Saturday. Hope to see some fellow pros and pals!

Comics peeps: Thinking of dipping my toe into Artist Alley at a few future cons. Any recommendations for those nifty vertical banners? Also, I’m guessing it’s good manners to ask permission of any artist whose work I’d like be part of the banner (haven’t begun any designs yet).

Might be time to sell more original color guides. Tons of Wonder Woman, Generations, 100 Bullets, Superman/Bugs Bunny etc. to sort through! Nothing like moving to force you to downsize everything.

When people ask why I go to Ireland so much… pictures sometimes speak louder than words.

Super-fun project to work on. Coloring Brad’s art is always a treat. Discovered characters I hadn’t even known about after all these years! 😄

It’s been many years since I attended SDCC, and I don’t see it happening anytime soon. I miss my friends and co-workers, but the expense and impossibility of getting a table are huge hurdles. ☹️ #sdcc
