It has been extraordinary to watch the NYC electorate transform, in just five years, from so habitually disengaged that it would literally elect Eric Adams to this. It feels like a huge and very swift realignment, with the winners united not just by left politics but by their sense of emergency.

Like many people who have worked in politics for decades, I am baffled and upset to see candidates who say they are going to try to make things better defeating candidates who say they are trying to make it more or less like it was in the years before things tipped over into Oaf-Style Fascism.

Sunday's Weather Rating: 6/10 Whatever, the Knicks won!! High temperatures reach near 90, and while it's warm at times we still have manageable dew points for most of the day. Clouds and showers move in this evening, but for now the vibes are good!!

The plot of my duology is literally "we used magic for all of our irrigation, whoops the magic is failing" ! I'm not gonna pretend I do a ton of Deep Worldbuilding around agriculture or economics, but in all fantasy projects I always make sure to reference that there are farmers SOMEWHERE.

Once again debating DNFing a book. It isn't boring (my usual reason to DNF) but it also isn't very good. It's a romance, so dual POV, but it changes POV like... every page or so, and the character voices aren't very distinct, so I keep losing track of which POV I'm in.

For some reason, Apple Music periodically sticks random music under my "Recently Added" list, which I have definitely not added. I don't think this is like the thing where U2 had a random album added to everyone's iphones, unless you all also recently got copies of REM's Document?

I just misread a video title as "I tried to quilt paper" instead of "quit paper" and I was really excited about a neat new craft, but alas. (I mean I'm sure the real video is also fine.)
