Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes, born on August 1, 1911. The first Black woman to create a comic strip that was nationally syndicated. Her strips included Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll in the late 1940s.

Sofi has a whole commercial that's like 90 percent active ai generator usage/ ai-gen images and 10% real video/photography and it's just so....bullshit 🫠

This is a remake in a color palette that was more in line with what I lean into these days with my illustrations. I have always enjoyed this piece. The original was made right after some big changes happened in my life, and I feel like I am cusp of more shifts in my path🌼
